FSAHV - Fireline Safety Awareness for the Hired Vendor
Black Helmet Training is now authorized to teach the annual FSAHV course through California State Fire Training. We generally offer this course several times in the Winter and Spring before fire season begins at our training classrooms in Rancho Cucamonga. We can also bring the class to your company depending on the number of employees.

This eight (8) hour course is required for all Hired Vendors working with the USFS or CAL FIRE on any active wildland fire assignment. This includes water tender operators, heavy equipment with water operators (Skidgine), dozer operators, crew bus drivers, vehicle drivers, mechanics, fallers, swampers and chain saw operators.

This course provides an awareness of fireline safety to hired vendors who plan to engage in wildland fire suppression and other incident support activities.

Topics include current safety training, relevant policy and procedures, how to recognize and mitigate risk, and maintain safe and effective practices while working under agency supervision on an incident.

Upon successful completion of training, participants will receive a course completion card valid for one (1) year from date of issue.
